**Today**

Today was a pretty lazy day around here.  We got up this morning ran to the store, came home, ate lunch, took naps...that's it!!  I can say that everyone is back to normal around here.  Thank God!!!  It took us all 2 weeks to kick that bug and now Nick's brother and his famiy have it.  Yuck!!

I offered today to host a Super Bowl party next Sunday ~ I'm kinda excited!!!  I've got the menu all planned out: salsa, guacamole, wings, chili, pulled pork and some sweets.  I'll have to keep you posted as to how it's going.

On another note, my baby turns 1 in less than 2 months :-(  Where has the time gone??  How did we go from this...

 to this...

They grow up way too fast!!!  My heart hurts.

So due to the upcoming birthday, I've got a lot of ideas from a birthday wreath for the front door, a balloon banner, a happy birthday banner and a Mickey Mouse theme.  I'll post pictures as I get more ideas :-)

Well, both of my sweet little boys are in bed and mine is calling to me.  On that note, nighty night.

**6 Days**

Well, somehow it has been 6 days since I posted last.  I'm not sure what happens during the week but apparently I'm incapable of posting!!  I appologize.  Let's start fresh...

A week ago, Nick and I took our youngest to Prompt Care because he looked so sick.  We were giving him a bath and he started to shiver and shake, it was so sad!!  Come to find out he had a double ear infection.  Five days of antibiotics later and he's back to my sweet baby boy.  However, tonight he lost his footing trying to stand-up and face planted onto the floor.  There was quite a bit of blood that came from his front teeth but none are loose or missing so I'm chalking it up as a nasty fall.  Poor baby!!!

Yesterday, my oldest followed me around the house crying and whining.  So, I took him to Prompt Care to find out he too had a double ear infection.  After fighting with him for 20 minutes to get him to take his medicine without throwing it back up - and after taking a 3 hour nap he was feeling better.  Now that he know the medicine won't make him "burp," a.k.a. throw up, it's not as bad to get him to take his antibiotics.

Today, he went with daddy to the Shop for a little bit to look at tractors, combines and gators - oh my!!!  That made him feel even better and it wore him out!!

He came in and collapsed on the den floor next to Diesel.  Tuckered out!!!

So I'm going to say that the recent absence is due to sick babies!!!  My poor little guys ~ but fortunately we are on the mend (again)!!  Hey, where's my phone?!?!!  Shoot, gotta go!!!!!

**Yucky Days**

I appologize for my recent absence ~ I've had a house-full of sickies.  First my oldest came down with the flu, then I got a sinus infection, then my youngest and oldest got a cold and finally my youngest got a double ear infection.  DANG!!!  Within a week all hell broke loose around here.

On a positive note, even through the cold and double ear infection; my youngest still remained in a good mood by showing me how onery he is!!  Exhibit A and B

"Helping" mommy load the dishwasher after supper.  A.k.a. ~ eating left over mashed potatoes off the spoon.

Playing in mommy's "personal" drawer in the bathroom.  His father used to do the same thing - so I've heard.

So, now that our house is on the mend - I'm ready to blog about everyday life around here.  It's still winter which means Nick is around frequently thank goodness.  My life is so much easier when he's around to help me with the munchkins :-)

This was the view outside our front door today, one word yucky.

Just a gloomy dreary depressing day.

This makes me very anxious for Spring ~ even though we have a lot going on until then.  Our weeks are fairly busy around here, it seems like there's always something going on.  We have birthdays, bridal showers, weddings and baby showers.  That's ok, I don't mind keeping busy.  On the down side, I just can't seem to find time to clean my house.  Bummer.  Don't judge me for not trying very hard.

**Lazy Sundays**

Yesterday was a lazy day at our house.  I LOVE lazy days, especially when mommy doesn't feel good.  Darn sinus infection :-(  Anywho, I was in the den watching TV with my husband and youngest son but I soon realized that everyone was asleep!!

How sweet is that, daddy and his boy....

Jenny was sleeping too, bum...

I went and peeked in Ruly's room and saw this precious face...

Today is my grandpa's 71st birthday so yesterday I wanted to do something special for him.  I wanted to take pictures of the boys to give him in a frame.

This is what we came up with!!!  Love those sweet boys :-)  Grandpa loved it too.  I was also in charge of family supper: roast, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, corn, rolls, chocolate cake and ice cream.  YUMMO!!!

I'm hoping this sinus infection soon goes away; I've got boys to take care of!!!   Happy Monday everyone.

**Creativity**

Now, I apologize for the computer issues I've been having but I believe I've found a way around my uploading issues!!  HOORAY!!!  Now, let's blog...

As my previous post stated, I've been addicted to Pinterest. It has allowed my brain to become more creative and I enjoy it.  However, before Pinterest I was fairly creative and able to have thoughts that came to life.  Here are a few...

My picture wall that is in my living room.  It's a collage of photos from grandparents' wedding, our wedding and our boys.  I'm excited to keep adding as our family grows!!

When we moved into our ranch style house closer to the main farm, it had to be 75% remodeled since it had been untouched since it was build in the 1960's.  One of my favorite aspects of doing the remodel was putting our decorative ceiling tiles in the bathrooms (2).  I stole the idea from my grandparents and I LOVE  the way it turned out!!!  It gives character and that old school charm.

Along with those ceiling tiles, I carried that idea into the kitchen and used those as my back splash.  I feel it really made the kitchen pop and I LOVE it.  P.S. ~ the kitchen is my favorite room in the house!!  As I continue blogging, I'll post more pictures :-)

I also skirted my utility sink in my beloved laundry room.  Found some sunbrella fabric that I liked online, made grandma show me her seamstress skills and VIOLA!!   A cute yet effective way to hide Diesel's accessories under my sink.  Now it is velcroed on so that it can be easily removed and washed.

There you have it, my creative side unleashed prior to Pinterest :-)

**Laundry Room Solution**

I've been addicted to pinterest lately.  Hello, my name is Heather and I'm a Pinterest addict.  Ok, now that that's over we can move on.  So anyway my laundry is quite small yet I've always needed a place to hang clothes.  That's when I stumbled upon this wonderful picture on Pinterest and VIOLA...
Genious!!!  An old wooden ladder cut to size and suspended from the ceiling.  (I'm still debating the paint color.)

Other projects have included skirting my utility sink, using decorative plastic as a backsplash in my kitchen and on my bathroom ceilings, and my picture wall.  I would love to download more pictures but my computer sucks!!
